Osteoporosis in men has been an ignored health problem. However, finally
some progress has been made, but much more needs to be studied.
Information about effectiveness of drugs in spine fracture prevention is
still limited, we do know that the minerals and vitamins on the
StarrWalker bone protocol will you’re your bones healthier.. Only two
trials (as of October 2001) that I know of, have been done in men. There
is no evidence that testosterone reduces fractures. It is believed that
testosterone increases bone mass density but to my knowledge the
necessary randomized clinical trials have not been done. That’s why
having a Hormone Saliva Test is a valuable piece of the puzzle that makes
up our big health picture. So why
has this problem been ignored for so long in men? Although osteoporosis
has long been viewed as a woman’s problem, five studies suggest that the
prevalence of spine fractures is similar in men and in women. Somewhere
between 10-20% of people over 65 suffer from vertebral fractures. From my
research, two small study groups of men revealed higher than expected
levels of osteoporosis. One involving 103 men from 51-95 found 20%
osteoporotic. Another study showed even higher incidence in forearm
studies. Call the Full Circle Clinic at 405-753-9355 to set you appointment today. DON’T FORGET THE BONUS OF A FREE CORAL CALCIUM. Call today!
Did you know that body fluids, such as blood, spinal and saliva, of the healthy are alkaline (high pH), whereas the body fluids of sick are acidic (low pH)? Did you know that most degenerative diseases attributed to aging, such as cancer, osteoporosis, and heart diseases, and other disease such as allergy, kidney stones and gallstones have all been scientifically linked to mineral deficiencies that results in your body fluids, including your saliva, becoming more acidic? Did you know that scientists found that cancer thrives in an acidic medium, but cannot survive in an alkaline medium? Did you know with vitamin and mineral supplements you may lower and alter the acidity of your body fluids and become healthy? Are your Body Fluids Acidic or Alkaline? To determine if you are acidic or alkaline, use a pH testing strip (litmus paper). Use your saliva to wet the litmus paper; 10 seconds later the litmus paper will turn different shades to show you your acidity/ alkalinity levels. The closer to 7.5 pH the better your ability to avoid disease. Everybody needs Calcium to keep their body in optimum health! We get bombarded daily with acidity. For example, soda pop takes 32 - 8 oz. glasses of good water to overcome the acid in one 8 oz. bottle of pop. Green or Yellow on the litmus paper is unhealthy. If your color match falls in the mid-range of the test strip, this means you are a good candidate for disease. A good and healthy person would still take Calcium to maintain good health. Calcium restores your alkalinity and builds your immune system so you can cooperate with your body to regenerate good health! Coral Calcium Supreme is of the highest grade "marine coral" available, combined with the power of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, and 400 mcg of foliates. The Calcium to Magnesium ratio is a biologically perfect 2:1 and contains 75 trace minerals. Coral Calcium is an amazing natural element and is prescribed by many doctors in many countries. Coral Calcium Supreme is 100% pure coral calcium with NO additives, mined freshly from the reef by mining (or vacuuming up) the fresh droppings. They do NOT harm the growing coral reef, but merely do housekeeping chores of sweeping the area, which in turn helps the coral to grow at a faster rate. Coral Calcium Supreme is available at Full Circle Health Clinic, The Doorway To Health and The 3rd Opinion. See special below.
RUNAWAY CARTS Robyn K. Cowherd My sense of humor finds a particular visual to be amusing. We have all probably encountered it at one time or another. It is this: A shopping cart let loose in a parking lot. Setting aside our worry that the cart will crash into a car and cause major damage, I mentally personify the cart and it seems like it has been set free from its job of a shopping cart and is making the quickest escape that it can. As it embarks, it is slow and furtive. Imagine two eyes – one on either corner of the front of the cart – darting back and forth making sure the way is clear. Usually a customer simply leaves the cart without putting it in the corral and it seems to say, “Here is my moment…” and off it goes. The further across the lot is rolls, the more speed it gathers, until eventually, it takes a person running full tilt to bring it back. Actually, it is what I imagine the cart to be saying that is the funniest thing to me. “Excuse me. Pardon me. Uh…I have no brakes, so please excuse me…pardon me. Oh dear. Will I make it?” Finally it crashes into a curb or a car or is confiscated by a person who puts it to work. The runaway cart is so much like children who have no one to really parent them in a way that helps them be effective. They run wild making everyone around them nervous while internally they say, “Excuse me, pardon me, oh dear, I can’t stop.” They are longing for help and outer control which will teach them inner control. How many of us are like the cart? With no boundaries, no parameters, we run off thinking that we are free. Of course, this is an illusion. True freedom comes with boundaries. Running away is just a reckless abandonment of responsibility. The more speed we gather and the harder we run, the worse we make our situations; and each one of us has “a situation” of some kind or another that needs to be faced. It may be spiritual. It may be physical. It’s more than likely both. Until we actually run into the curb or manage to exercise control in that area of our lives, we are not free. Everyday in our work at The Clinic and The Doorway to Health, we see “runaway carts.” Oh, they look like perfectly average people, but they are hurting because they have not yet learned the power of the corral. They have not learned the power of corralling their desire for improper foods or a lifestyle that invites sickness. We are like the carts that get corralled for a time, but then we get away again. That’s normal. Just keep trying to get back. Learn the power of self-discipline. I overheard one of our practitioners say to someone just the other day, “Let us be your safety net.” Let us partner with you in your move toward better health and better discipline. Let us help you bring your “runaway cart” back home.
TYLER MEDIA ANNOUNCES “COMMERCIAL OF THE YEAR” AWARD Tyler Media, owner of the radio station KTLR – AM 890, recently announced that Robyn K. Cowherd is the recipient of its 2005 Commercial of the Year Award. Robyn is the Marketing Director for Starr Walker Nutritional Supplements and works closely with Mary Schrick, Ph.D., N.D. “Doctor Mary” is the host of the radio show “The Third Opinion” which airs every morning 7:00-9:00 and 12:30-1 p.m. Monday through Friday on Community Talk Radio AM 890. The Third Opinion and Mary Schrick have become household names in many homes in the area for the nutritional information dispensed on the daily program. She also sees clients at The Full Circle Health Clinic located on South Broadway in Edmond. “The owner of Tyler Media called me up one day a month or so ago and said, ‘Who wrote that commercial for you?’” Mary goes on to say, “I told him that our own Robyn Cowherd had written it. He told me that it was so good it could run nationally, and Robyn became the recipient of The Commercial of the Year Award.” AM 890 KTLR, known as the community’s talk radio station, is owned by Tyler Media and recently achieved rating with Arbitron, the company which studies the demographics of radio station audiences. This is a landmark accomplishment for Tyler Media and is due, in large part, to the popularity of Mary Schrick’s The Third Opinion show, produced by Jay Shankle. A live, call-in radio show, The Third Opinion is health radio at its finest. With guests on-air such as world-renowned Dr. Albert Sanchez who is putting Poly MVA “on the map” as an adjunctive cancer therapy; Dr. Ben Johnson and Dr. Alex Lloyd with The Healing Codes; Tim Kershenstein with Balance Three International; and many other pioneers in the field of health and wellness, The Third Opinion is a radio show on the cutting edge of research into healthy alternatives in complementary medicine. Cowherd relocated from Michigan to Bethany, Oklahoma, 3 years ago and has been with Starr Walker for 3 years. She was hired full-time in January to assist with marketing. When asked about the winning commercial, she stated, “It was really the kind of thing I would say to my kids on the way to music lessons when I was just being silly.” She also sheepishly admits that she has been guilty of too much caffeine and that the “Adrenal Fatigue” commercial she wrote came from first-hand experience. “That’s what they teach in a good writing class,” she says. “Write from experience!” Robyn’s award was presented by Mary Schrick at The 2nd Annual National Natural Health and Wellness Conference held at the University of Central Oklahoma Saturday, September 10, 2005, by The Third Opinion/Starr Walker. The winning commercial can be heard on The Third Opinion radio show with Mary Schrick, PhD, ND, on Community Talk AM 890. RX Laughter

Stack two to three leaves of kale and roll tightly. Cut the kale crosswise into very thin strips. Repeat with the remaining leaves of kale. Add ½ tsp of the sea salt and massage the kale well with your hands, in order to soften the kale. Add the lemon juice, olive oil, remaining ¼ tsp sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper and toss well with your hands, working the dressing into the greens. Gently toss in the pine nuts, sliced olives, and diced red bell pepper. Variation #1: Substitute ¼ cup golden raisins, soaked 10 minutes, drained, and rinsed for the olives. Eliminate the cayenne pepper and red bell pepper. Variation #2: Eliminate the olives and the pine nuts. Add 1 seeded and diced tomato and 1 diced avocado. When kale is cut into thin strips and marinated in a dressing, it has a wonderfully soft and juicy texture that makes it delightful in salads. This nutritious salad is visually beautiful, and sure to become a staple recipe for your family and friends. General Ionics
