RAYNAUD’S DISEASE/PHENOMENON

Robyn K. Cowherd

May is Arthritis Month, and since Mary and I recently did a radio segment on Raynaud’s (pronounced ra-noz), I decided to follow up with an article on this malady. Raynaud’s Disease is an autoimmune deficiency categorized under arthritis, along with hundreds of other disorders.

Raynaud’s Disease affects circulation of the blood to the extremities. It most commonly affects the hands first, then the feet. The nose and lips can also be involved, although that is less common. In my own situation, I have had involvement of hands, feet, nose, lips and ears. As the blood vessels constrict, the skin changes color, usually from red to blue, and then blanches completely white. There is a tingling sensation, much like when a hand or foot goes “to sleep,” as the blood returns. Tenderness and pain are also associated with this process. A person can have the beginning stages without an actual diagnosis. To be diagnosed with Raynaud’s, the person must have had the symptoms for at least 2 years and the blanching has to progress beyond the second knuckle. It also affects far more women than men.

Raynaud’s is referred to as a phenomenon when it is a symptom of another disease such as diabetes, lupus or scleroderma – to name just a few. It is important to have an accurate diagnosis in order to rule out any underlying cause that needs to be treated.

Once that possibility has been eliminated, one can focus on dealing with the Raynaud’s as a disease. Staying informed about the other diseases that can be associated with Raynaud’s is important in order to watch for their development and to do things to prevent any tendency you might have to those.

Following is a list of things that should help you cope:

1.      Don’t smoke and stay away from second-hand smoke!

2.      Live in a warm climate. I did not move because of the Raynaud’s; but living in an overall warmer climate than Michigan has been extremely beneficial.

3.      Several years ago I stopped consuming nutrasweet. Nutrasweet is a neurotoxin and Raynaud’s is a disease that affects the autonomic nervous system. If you consume nutrasweet (aspartame), expect your symptoms to worsen and you may develop far worse than Raynaud’s. For information on the hazards of aspartame, go to www.dorway.com.

4.      Stay warm. The core body temperature is important in preventing the vascular spasms. When drinking beverages, it is better to drink them at room temperature, or slightly warm, rather than iced.

5.      Dressing for the weather seems obvious. What is not so obvious is to have an extra sweater along in case you go into air conditioning that is especially cold. This often happens in restaurants. Ask to be seated away from cool air vents. Another factor is rain. If you get caught in the rain without a rain coat, being wet can cause you to become very cold and cause an onset of symptoms. An entire extra set of warm clothing in your vehicle is an important precaution. Even in Oklahoma you can get caught in an extreme weather change that brings wind and cooler temperatures. I can personally be affected in a temperature at about 70 degrees or below.

6.      Keep a pair of gloves near your freezer and take a pair of gloves with you to the grocery store. Remember the sweater for the store as the coolers can make the store quite cold – especially if you are dressed for summer weather or if you just finished exercising and are dressed very lightly. It is preferable to have someone else get things for you from the freezer. It’s also a great excuse not to have to clean your freezer!

7.      Check the thyroid. Hypothyroidism may be involved.

8.      Check the estrogen to progesterone ratio. Excess estrogen may block the cell receptor sites for the thyroid hormone.

9.      Keep stress at a minimum. Stressful situations can trigger an attack.

10.  Magnetic therapy can help with symptoms. I wear magnetic insoles in my shoes and this has kept the symptoms in my feet to a minimum.

11.  Exercise!!! Exercise!!! Exercise!!!

12.  Natural vasodilators can be helpful such as no-flush niacin. We carry a no-flush niacin made by Twinlab. Straight niacin can be hard on the liver, if you already have a tendency to liver problems. Vitamin E may also be helpful as well as Cell Detox or Artery Cleanse.

13.  Detoxify. Raynaud’s is one of the symptoms of Leaky Gut Syndrome. Our doctors at The Full Circle Health Clinic can test you for this and prescribe beneficial supplements for it. A good intestinal cleanse is probably also in order.

14.  Dress in layers. You can always take off layers as you get warmer and put them back on if you get colder.

There may be an inclination to use electric blankets or heating pads. I have personally not used them because of the electrical field they create around the body. This is very negative. I have chosen, instead to use magnetic therapy. When I have needed something to warm my feet in bed – especially in Michigan – I used the bags of buckwheat hulls heated in the microwave. Be careful not to get them too hot, because you will be insensitive to the degree of heat.

Here are some things to do when you have an onset of symptoms.

1.           Run your hands under warm water. If your core body temperature is affected, sometimes it

works better to get into a warm bath.

2.           This looks funny; but, you can whirl your arms around in a windmill-like fashion. This

causes the blood to be pushed into the fingers.

3.           Massage the arms, but do not press on the fingers. Excessive pressure can actually cause an

attack. Massage in general is a good idea as part of the overall healthcare.

4.           Get as warm as possible, as quickly as possible. Use blankets, heaters, movement, hug a

   friend…whatever works!

STUTTERING AWARENESS

(2ND WEEK IN MAY)

Robyn K. Cowherd

When I noticed “Stuttering Awareness” on the list for May, it prompted me to remind our readers that breastfeeding is critical for speech development. Stuttering afflicts more boys than girls, and boys are generally more delayed in speech development than are girls. Breastfeeding is hard work for the baby and causes the musculature of the face and mouth to become highly developed. That is the reason for those “sweet cheeks” that are the trademark of the breastfed infant – buccinator muscle workouts! The mother’s breast conforms to the inside of the mouth rather than the mouth conforming to a rubber nipple. This factor alone is worth breastfeeding. The repeated stimulation of these muscles is critical to later speech development.

Often, in our culture, a mother who nurses her children until they can “ask for it,” is ridiculed. Well, consider the fact that one reason they can ask for it is because they have been breastfed and “breastfed is best fed” regardless of what the formula companies and any other “well-meaning” onlookers might have to say!

A NEW TWIST IN PAIN RELIEF

Mary Schrick, N.D.

Several weeks ago, I was introduced to a pain relief lotion.  In my practice, I have seen many of these so, quite honestly, I did not have great expectations.  The creators of the product asked me to bring in the worst pain cases I could find and for a day and a half and into the evening, they would demonstrate the lotion on them.

I put out the call on my morning show.  They came . . . with fibromyalgia, arthritis, frozen limbs, neck pain, back pain, carpal tunnel, polymyalgia and more . . . all with debilitating pain or discomfort.  They came . . . some on their own two feet, more on canes, walkers and one in a wheel chair, and after treatment, they walked on their own two feet, without their canes, walkers or wheelchair.  I don’t believe there was anyone who wasn’t helped in some way and you should have seen the tears of joy in the Clinic that day.

There was the young man who had been shot pointblank in the abdomen with a 12-gauge shotgun 3 years ago.  He lived on morphine.  His pain was unimaginable to most of us.  His doctors told him the pain would never lessen and he would have to learn to cope with it for the rest of his life.  After one treatment with the lotion, he said his pain was 25% less and the huge scar on his abdomen had already begun to soften.  We will keep a watchful eye on this case.

There was also a woman with diabetes who used a walker. Her legs were swollen and she had poor circulation in her feet.   I watched as Eric applied the lotion to one foot and saw her whole foot begin to pinken.  Side by side, her two feet looked like they belonged to two different people. She is the one who walked down the hall without her walker after treatment.

There were many more successes those two days, the kind of successes that I’m almost embarrassed to talk about because they are so unbelievable – but absolutely true.

Well, folks, we now carry that special lotion “Starr Walker Renew”, in our Full Circle Health Clinic as well as on the website,  with instructions on how to apply it.  These instructions are very important because the method and site of application go hand-in-hand with the success you derive from the lotion.  So, be sure to read them thoroughly before you begin to use the lotion.

Oh yes, we named are anxious to know what it does for you.

LANDMARK EUROPEAN UNION DIRECTIVE

APRIL 5, 2005, ON CODEX ALIMENTARIUS

Don’t be put off by Codex Alimentarius even though the Latin name might seem formidable to you. You probably recognize the roots of the more familiar words “code” and “alimentary.” This “food law” has far-reaching implications. There have been very grave concerns over the last few years, in particular, concerning the potential direction that this law might take regarding food supplements. Codex, as it is commonly referred to, is under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Health Organization (WHO). So, you might justifiably ask, what does that have to do with me? Well, it may have everything to do with what is in your supplements because the rulings that are applied now to the EU, could one day be extrapolated to the United States. These laws could severely limit access to beneficial nutrients. Those nutrients that would be available could also have very restricted dosages – possibly only as high as the government’s RDA.

On April 5, 2005, a landmark ruling occurred in favor of those who cherish their right to continue using the natural food supplements they feel are beneficial to them.

“A controversial EU directive that could ban thousands of popular vitamin and mineral supplements has been declared illegal by a European judge.

The judgment is a victory for health food manufacturers and retailers who appealed to the European Court of Justice to overturn the proposed law.

The new rules governing vitamins and minerals are due to come into effect on 1 August and are designed to improve the safety and efficacy of products sold by the industry, worth millions of pounds. Only named ingredients with proven scientific benefits have been included on an EU “positive” list of approved substances that would be allowed in health supplements.

More than 300 different vitamins and minerals are not on the positive list, meaning that 5,000 supplements will be banned if the proposals become law, according to campaigners,… Popular supplements that will be outlawed include certain vitamin C brands, some calcium capsules and copper tablets.

The legal case against the directive was brought by the Alliance for Natural Health (ANH), a Europe-wide association of more than 300 manufacturers, retailers, consumers and doctors opposed to the legislation. The advocate general at the European Court of Justice (ECJ) gave an advisory opinion that the directive, as it stands, infringes basic EU principles.” (From: Judge overrules Brussels ban on vitamins; http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/health_medical/story.jsp?story=626831

The following is from the Alliance for Natural Health which is “a Europe-wide pro-fessional organization dedicated to ensuring that good science and good law are applied to regulation affecting the leading edge of natural health.” FULL STORY at http://www.alliance-natural-health.org/index.cfm?action=news&ID=151

“It should be stressed that the Advocate General’s pronouncement is not a ruling. That will come from the ECJ judges, later – probably around June. But typically, in the vast majority of cases, the Court Judgment follows the recommendations of the Advocate General.

If the Advocate General’s recommendations are adopted, in effect, the ban on vitamin and mineral forms not included on the EU’s ‘Positive list,’ due to come into effect on 1 August 2005, will be declared illegal.  In essence, the positive list of allowable nutrient forms will be deemed to be too narrow, too restrictive, and based on flawed science.

This would avoid the totally irrational situations that the Food Supplements Directive would otherwise create. For example, synthetically produced selenium would have been allowed on the positive list, while the natural source found in Brazil nuts would not; synthetic forms of Vitamin E (often used in ‘adverse’ vitamin studies reported in the media) would be allowed, but the natural, most beneficial food forms would not.”

“…This is just the beginning for the Alliance for Natural Health. Regulatory and industry pressure through the EU Food Supplements Directive was always likely to translate globally, particularly to the US, through Codex and the World Health Organization. Without having to justify any health hazard, and without considering any benefits, safety has been used as a reason to restrict the availability of natural food products.

Yet food supplements are the safest things that people put into their mouths – considerably safer even than conventional foods’, said Dr Robert Verkerk. ‘With rapidly declining vitamin and mineral content in fruit vegetables and other foods, and continuing increases in degenerative diseases such as heart disease and cancer in the West, this has always been a very big issue worth fighting for.’

‘Fundamentally, an amended Directive would help to slow down the agenda of the Codex Alimentarius Commission to export worldwide an onerous, EU-style regime for food supplements.’

David Hinde added. ‘The ANH is now going to be working on getting a proper procedure in place for the Food Supplements Directive and in addition, the next challenges will be on legislation proposing to reduce dosages to ineffective levels, and to restrict other nutrient forms such as amino acids, enzymes and plant nutrients. Traditional herbal remedies are also under threat. In its work, the Alliance for Natural Health will continue its thorough, professional approach based, as always, on ‘good science, good law.’

It is too early to ignore the progression of Codex Alimentarius. Note the preceding paragraph, “…the next challenges will be on legislation proposing to reduce dosages to ineffective levels, and to restrict other nutrient forms such as amino acids, enzymes and plant nutrients. Traditional herbal remedies are also under threat,…..”

Please take the initiative to write to your senators and express your concern that we retain unrestricted access to supplements as they are now available – not in a less effective form or dosage. “FUR” FOOD

Robyn K. Cowherd

This is the recipe that we have used for many years for our dog. It is supposed to keep the fleas away and seems to work quite well.

Mix together equal parts of Nutritional Yeast; Lecithin Granules; and Wheat Germ. Keep this dry powder in your refrigerator or freezer and sprinkle over the pet’s food. I also sprinkle Pure Green Power over the top of this mixture.

Consider that if this is good for pet fur, perhaps it would be good for your skin. Nutritional yeast is full of B vitamins and contains alpha lipoic acid. Lecithin helps to emulsify fat. Wheat germ is also full of B vitamins and should have some wheat germ oil in it. The benefits of Pure Green Power could take pages to describe. One of the great advantages of PGP is the way in which it is processed – very low temperature and less than 2% humidity. So what? That means that the enzymes have not been destroyed by heat and moisture. This may help with digestion; especially when you see your pet eating grass.

A question came from a customer about garlic and pets. Garlic seems to be fine for dogs and may help with flea control. However, according to “50 Simple Ways to Pamper your Cat” By Arden Moore (Storey Books, 2000), raw garlic “can cause a dangerous form of anemia and even lead to death.” (www.care2.com)

ORAL HYDROGEN PEROXIDE – KILLER OR CURE??

Charles H. Farr M.D., Ph.D.

The switch is thrown and a thunderous roar can be heard for miles as flames belch from the motors of the huge rocket sitting on the launch pad. A powerful oxidizer, Hydrogen Peroxide, has just been mixed with hydrazine, kerosene or some other substance capable of being oxidized to produce tremendous energy. This same fuel, which has sent our rockets into outer space, occurs naturally within the cells of our bodies.

Because Hydrogen Peroxide is an oxidizer, which means it collects electrons or little balls of energy, it plays an extremely important role in the metabolism of the body. Hydrogen Peroxide, by its ability to transfer energy, affects every biochemical and enzymatic reaction in the body. We have enzyme systems in our body to protect us from all kinds of chemical toxins and poisons. In the case of Hydrogen Peroxide we also have enzymes to protect us – two in particular – catalase and Glutathione peroxidase. These enzymes are very abundant in the cells and tissue fluids of the body; but are almost absent in secretions of the stomach, small and large intestines, sweat and urine.

Catalase and glutathione peroxidase convert Hydrogen Peroxide into water and oxygen, both of which are necessary to sustain life. The body is a wonderfully balanced biochemical machine which, when properly serviced and maintained, runs very well to produce life and energy. Like any machine, however, when it is pushed beyond its limits of tolerance, it will eventually break down and destruct.

Our bodies have very poor tolerance to Hydrogen Peroxide when taken orally. The detrimental effects are cumulative and may eventually cause serious problems. Experiences with asbestos, Agent Orange, PCP, low level radiation, etc. have taught us to be wary of possible long-term effects.

There is a growing legion of people who are anxious to testify to the alleged healing power of Hydrogen Peroxide when taken by mouth. The freedom which allows them to express their convictions allows you to collect adequate knowledge and make an intelligent decision about your own healthcare.

Scientific interest in Hydrogen Peroxide dates back into the mid-1800’s. Several years before the coming of the latest popular interest in taking Hydrogen Peroxide by mouth for various medical or health reasons, scientific studies had already shown serious problems accompanying this particular route of administration. Akihdro Ito et al reported, in the Japanese Journal of Cancer Research (1), that mice fed very low concentrations of Hydrogen Peroxide in their drinking water developed gastric erosion, duodenal hyperplasia, adenomas and adenocarcinoma in as little as three weeks’ time.

The levels of the enzymes, catalase and glutathione peroxidase, are so tiny in the gastric (stomach) juice, that only very small amounts of Hydrogen Peroxide, when taken orally, would be converted into water and oxygen. When we eat, there are always trace amounts of foods and food by-products such as fats, proteins, carbohydrates, fatty acids, amino acids, and minerals, which linger behind in the stomach and the intestine until the next meal is eaten. When Hydrogen Peroxide is taken orally, it can react with iron and fatty acids to form a highly toxic, unstable substance called a ‘hydroxyl radical.’ (2)

The hydroxyl radical is recognized as the most powerful ‘free radical’ yet discovered. When produced in the stomach and duodenum (first part of the small intestine), it causes erosion of the lining of these organs. Erosion is the same as burning the tissue. After repeated burning or erosion has taken place, the tissue becomes hyperplastic, meaning it grows in a crazy, disorganized way. The hyperplasia can grow into an adenoma; a non-cancerous tumor. In time, the adenoma can become further disorganized into an adenocarcinoma (cancer). Although this process takes as little as three weeks in mice with small concentrations of Hydrogen Peroxide, it may take much longer in humans. There is a species difference in how Hydrogen Peroxide is metabolized in animals and humans. The terminal events may however be the same in all species. With this knowledge you can make your decision based on fact rather than emotional hypothesis.

Hydrogen Peroxide is proving beneficial when given intravenously by a trained physician. The metabolism of Hydrogen Peroxide in the blood is entirely different from what could be expected when taken orally. Hydrogen Peroxide, given into the blood stream, releases oxygen in great amounts and, by its action of being an oxidizer, will destroy many types of poisons and toxins, including bacteria and viruses. Because it is used by the body in regulating the immune system, it has been found useful in treating inflammatory problems such as arthritis, myalgia, rheumatism, as well as  in emphysema, asthma and chronic lung disease. The immunostimulating benefit helps in treating acute and chronic infectious diseases such as candida, EBV, CMV, hepatitis, herpes, influenza and pneumonia. Hydrogen Peroxide administered by any other means can be dangerous. (3-6)

The Castor Oil Pack

Background:

The castor bean (Oleun ricini)), also known as Paima Christi, due to its shape and healing properties, is known principally as a cathartic (strong laxative). A gentler us is in the form of a pack placed over the abdomen, usually with heat applied.  The oil is absorbed into the lymphatic circulation to provide a soothing, cleansing, and nutritive treatment.

Use:

The castor oil pack has many applications, and is specific in cases of uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts that are non-malignant.  Other conditions which respond well include: headaches, liver disorders, constipation, intestinal disorders, gall bladder inflammation or stones, conditions with poor elimination, night-time urinary frequency and inflamed joints.

It is not to be used with bleeding or during menstruation.

Materials Needed:

Castor oil, 2 sheets of plastic ( garbage bags ok), 36 x 18: white cotton or wool flannel, heating pad or hot water bottle, old sheet, wool blanket, pillows and baking soda.

Procedure:

1.      Fold flannel into 3 thicknesses to fit over you entire abdomen.

2.      Soak flannel with the castor oil.  Fold flannel in half and strip excess oil from pack and unfold.

3.      You can then heat the entire pack in a microwave for 1 to 1 1/3 minutes.

4.      Lay wool blanket, old sheet, large sheet of plastic and old towel out on the surface you will be lying on.  This will prevent staining.

5.      Lie on your back, with your feet elevated (use of a pillow under your knees and feet works well), placing flannel over abdomen, cover with a small sheet of plastic and towel.  And then place a heating pad or hot water bottle on top.

6.      Wrap yourself in the sheet and wool blanket.

7.      Leave pack on for 45-60 minutes.  This is an excellent time to now practice relaxation breathing.

8.      After finishing, to remove the oil, wash with a solution of 2 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 quart water with citrus soap.

9.      Store the pack in a large zip-lock bag.  Reuse the pack several times, adding more oil as needed to keep the pack saturated.  Replace the pack in a month or two after it begins to change color.

10.  For maximum effectiveness, it is necessary to apply the pack as often as possible.  Try for at least 4 consecutive days per week for at least 4-6 weeks.  People who use the pack daily will receive the most beneficial effects.

A castor oil pack is a good idea to use the evening before receiving a colonic.

America’s Ice Cream

The ice cream industry of today has grown by leaps and bounds.  Let us take a look at this report given in the magazine Natures Path – June 1958.

HOLD IT   HEALTH HAZARD    ICE CREAM

In the olden days when ice cream was made of whole eggs, milk and sugar and laboriously cranked in the farm freezer, a serving of ice cream was only an occasional family “treat” which didn’t do much harm.  Today, in this mass-producing, synthetic age, it is another matter entirely.  Today you may be “treating” your family poison.

Ice cream manufacturers are not required by law to list the additives used in the manufacture of their product.  Consequently, today most ice creams are synthetic from start to finish.  Analyses have shown the following:

“Diethyl Glucol” – a cheap chemical is used as an emulsifier instead of eggs.  Diethyl Glucol is the same chemical used in anti-freeze and in paint remover.

“Piperonal” – is used instead of vanilla.  This is a chemical used to kill lice.

“Aldehyde C 17” – is used to flavor cherry ice cream.  It is an inflammable liquid which is also used in aniline dyes, plastic and rubber.

“Ethyl Accetate” – is used to give ice cream a pineapple flavor.  It is also used as a cleaner for leather textiles and its vapors have been known to cause chronic lung, liver and heart damage.

“Butyraldehyde” – is used in the nut-flavored ice cream.  It’s one of the ingredients of rubber cement.

“Amyl Accetate” – is used for its banana flavor.  It’s also used as an oil paint solvent.

“Benzyl Accetate” – is used for its strawberry flavor.  It’s a nitrate solvent.

The next time you’re tempted by a luscious looking banana split sundae, think of it as a mixture of anti-freeze, oil paint, nitrate solvent and lice killer and you won’t find it so appetizing.

Fluoridated Water and You

The average person who drinks water fluoridated with fluorosilicates will ingest about 0.40 milligrams of molecular silicates per day.  However, both the molecular fluorides and silicates are easily absorbed through the skin and are more effective as toxicants.  Unobstructed, with no possibility of minerals from the foodstuffs in the stomach and intestinal tract to bind them into insoluble complexes, they enter the blood stream and search out target organs.  All research conducted on drinking water fluoridation is concerned only with the direct oral ingestion, using USP grade sodium fluoride.

Researchers do not consider the reality of multiple exposures to fluoride and silica silicone such as via bathing (absorption through the skin) and continual household contamination (inhalation).  Therefore, people in long term fluoridated areas are subject to many additional sources of fluoride and silica/silicone exposure than people in non fluoridated areas, who are nevertheless exposed via dental products, processed foods and air pollution.  Since no research has ever been carried out on the chronic effects of exposure to fluorosilicates, claims regarding the safety or efficacy of these substances are specious.  Several of the consequences of the absolute refusal of all responsible federal agencies to undertake or commission appropriate research are as follows:

Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease

·        Senile Dementia Alzheimer’s Type (SDAT) is the most common cause of intellectual decline with aging.  The incidences are approximately 9 of 10,000 people.  This disorder affects women slightly more than men and occurs primarily in older individuals.

·        Approximately 4 million American have AD.  Nineteen million Americans say they have a family member with AD, and 37 million know someone with AD.

·        14 million Americans will have AD by the middle of the next century unless a cure or prevention is found.

·        Alzheimer’s disease is the fourth leading cause of death among adults.

·        One in 10 persons over 65 and nearly half of those over 85 have AD and it is increasingly found in people in their 40’s and 50’s.

·        A person with AD can live from three to 20 years or more beyond the onset of symptoms.

RADIANT WOMAN HEALTH SEMINAR 2005

The first all-women health seminar to be offered by Dr. Mary Schrick will take place May 22, 2005, at the University of Central Oklahoma in Constitution Hall. This will be an opportunity for women to laugh and learn together. “An all-women conference makes it possible for us to discuss intimate topics that we don’t cover in mixed company,” says Dr. Mary.

Dr. Mary Schrick is on air 6 days per week. In addition to any topic that listeners call in to discuss, she addresses issues unique to women such as fibrocystic breast disease, severe PMS, lack of libido due to hypothyroidism and so on. However, in an all-women setting, it will be possible to delve a bit more deeply into some of these troubling physical symptoms. “Test; don’t guess,” is a frequently heard mantra by those who are listeners to her radio show.

“We decided to make the seminar fairly short; yet hard-hitting. We intend for those three hours to be packed with useable information that the women can go home and implement. Restoration of balance is the goal and we want to help the women get to that goal,” comments Dr. Schrick.

By the end of those three hours, all in attendance should have a well-massaged liver thanks to abundant laughter. Myrna Jo Heller will be the featured guest speaker. Her entertaining style will get the group off to a light-hearted start with her presentation on body-types and how to deal with them! Interspersed with the fun will be helpful tips on weight control.

Weight control seems to be a major focus for women and for those who never seem to be able to “keep it off!” the day will be jammed with, not only good suggestions, but real solutions to the causes of excess weight.

Robyn Cowherd’s segment on detoxification will fill the second hour. She will cover detoxification principles as well as some very simple, yet effective healthy habits.

Dr. Mary Schrick will close the program. Hormonal imbalances are rife in our society. They have many causes and she will address those causes and what to do about them. For those who never seem to be able to control their weight, this session is a must-attend.

Of course there are issues besides weight management that affect women, and some of those will also be covered. All-in-all, it will be time well-spent. Beyond the informational presentations, there will be drawings for gifts that have been contributed by our co-sponsors. Make plans now to join us May 22 to Be More Alive in 2005!
